The goal of the winter school is to inform students about modern aspects of physical chemistry and to promote the distribution of knowledge of – in particular new – key concepts in this field. The lectures have a starting point that coincides with the graduate level of physical chemistry courses as given in the various Dutch universities.
Typically, the courses will be considered rather involved for those students who have had no prior knowledge of the concepts of statistical thermodynamics. Also for students we have had a basic course in statistical mechanics it is perhaps a good idea to refresh the knowledge of this field prior to going to the winter school.
The school is open for dutch PhD students in the fields of (bio) physical chemistry and related fields. If space is available PostDoctoral fellows can also attend.
